Pacific BioChar

The passionate folks at Bay Area-based Pacific Biochar are safely storing carbon in soil while simultaneously improving that soil and reducing forest fire risk at the same time (triple whammy!). With their facilities across California, they turn high-fire-risk forestry residues into raw and amended biochar - a form of charcoal that stores carbon for thousands of years. Pacific Biochar is effectively transferring carbon from forest to farm in order to reduce catastrophic forest fires, store carbon and ensure food security for generations to come.
